KONRONIK JIVE

The JIVE follows a concept that will convince you. Its functionality exceeds all you have ever heard about ESCs.

High-tech unit
It's integrated shock-resistant housing, made from a specific polyamide, protects the JIVE ESCs from mechanical damage and makes it waterproof. The plastic material has been developed especially for injection moulding of electronic parts.

Power by coolness
Noticeable is the huge cooling plate. It is perfectly connected with the power parts, provides good heat transfer and enables additional cooling to be realized. It is possible to raise the performance enormously by installing an additional air or water cooler system. The naming 80+ means: minimum 80 A. With a good extra cooler it is possible to increase to double power.

BEC records
Further highlights are waiting inside, for example the strong BEC which is adjustable between 5 V and 6 V with PROGCARD II. It offers 5 A continuous BEC current with 15 A in peak. That’s enough for all spectacular flight figures, even in helicopters. To provide this power the JIVE ESCs have got two parallel BEC output jacks.

High-voltage surprise, Unique too is the BEC of the HV Types, which offers 5 A continuous current with 15 A peak current up to 12 S (16-50 V)! This allows a secure BEC usage for all applications up to 12 S, of course without any Voltage swing and without interferences - proven by thorough tests on our own EMV test bench.

This ESC shows initiative
Before and during operation the JIVE controls all necessary data. During the last year, the software for the start-up sequence has been modified. The parameters are now more compatible with the custom motors. After each operation the JIVE informs the pilot, if there was any overload in order to prevent a potential malfunction.

Would you like an F3A brake?
The JIVE is available with an adjustable break, which allows F3A pilots to fly constant downward speed passages during their acrobatic figures.

MINIJAZZ - SMALL BUT POWERFUL

The small MINIJAZZ convinces you with lots of functions. Its size is only 36x20 mm but he includes all well known JAZZ features; so the really good RPM control and starting sequence.

The MINIJAZZ hat the same mode programming as all JAZZ ESC’s and is therefore well prepared for really all applications.

Where space and weight is sensitive and lost of performance is not acceptable, there the MINIJAZZ is just right.

For its size the MINIJAZZ has a strong BEC and is so prepared especially for small helicopters like T-Rex 250

KOBY – A STANDARD THAT DRIVES

The KOBY series is the latest generation of KONTRONIK brushless ESCs. Following the successful JAZZ series, the KOBY guarantees the highest performance with the familiar KONTRONIK reliability.

KOBY ESCs feature a powerful 3 A continuous current BEC that can easily handle peaks of up to 10 A. The output voltage of the synchronized BEC is adjustable from 5.6 V to 8 V. This allows for powerful supply of servos of the latest generation.

Easy operation of the KOBY is guaranteed by the familiar standardized KONTRONIK mode programming. Set up is nearly plug & play with most important general parameters preset in selectable glider mode, motor mode and heli mode. Of course the KOBY comes equipped with the legendary KONTRONIK sensitive RPM control.
One of the innovative aspects of KOBY ESCs is their online update ability (OUF). The new KONTRONIK PROGDISC is not only the programming unit for ESCs; it is also the PC interface for online-updating KONTRONIK ESC software.

SUN - KONTRONIKS NEW SUNSHINE

The Mode Programming System of the SUN PLUS line allows (to select) selection of an operating mode, which updates all controllable settings to optimal values. There is no need to program each ESC setting one after another– such as EMF brake, maximum RPM or under voltage cut off. Instead, you need only to select the area of use of your model.

Another essential highlight of the SUNs is the protection against reversal polarity. If plus and minus are changed when connecting the battery, no damage will happen.
As a matter of course the SUNs have an integrated LiPo Mode which programs all the necessary changes in the ESC when using LiPo batteries.

The Heli Mode provides an Automatic Power Compensation. APC is a KONTRONIK development and is only available in SUN PLUS ESCs. It compensates the decreasing battery voltage by increasing the motor current. In the Heli Mode, most protection circuits are deactivated. No unwelcome cut-off can risk flight security.

Also, there is an integrated RC-Car Mode which offers a proportional brake for precise braking and an immediate throttle response for fast acceleration.

The programming of the SUN PLUS ESCs can also be done by PROGCARD which allows adjustment of all specs on the flying field without an additional PC.

Due to the 2 A BEC all SUN PLUS capacitate an adequate supply of max. 4 servos.
SUN PLUS ESCs come with the active free-wheeling circuit which means they have a full part load capability.

The under voltage disconnection is automatically calculated when the battery pack is connected to the ESC.

The performance and integrity of the unit are maintained by intelligent protection features. By measuring the temperature of the ESC, power to the motor is reduced if an overload is detected.

KONTRONIK CONNECTOR SYSTEM

The KONTRONIK high performance connector system is made from silver-plated brass, meeting all the requirements for a good connector system:

Low contact resistance – Silver-plating with a brass cross-section for an excellent electrical conductivity.

Extremely light-weight – Connectors are hollow for a reduced weight.

Good Solderability – Unique soldering post for lengthwise or crosswise orientation of cable.

Low weight, small size and safe contact make it what it is – a connector system useful for
competition. It is often used at world championships.

 

TORODIAL CORE

Tolerances in your RC equipment may cause glitches and can decrease the range of your transmitter.

KONTRONIK has approached this problem, and after thorough research and testing we have selected this special filter, built from a nanocrystalline substance.

The torodial core, used with the JAZZ ESCs, is available as an accessory.

 

AERONAUT PROPELLERS

High-performance Aeronaut propellers are completely CAD-designed.

Reinforced with carbon fiber, they have tremendous strength and efficiency.

Thus the KONTRONIK idea of offering a complete drive comes true.

Available sizes: from 12 x 8 inches to 17 x 11 inches

 

PROGCARD

KONTRONIK now offers a small, easy-to-use programming tool, the PROGCARD.

With this card you can modify every single function of all ESCs, which are especially prepared forPROGCARD programming.

It does not matter if it is the brake, the LiPo Mode or the stick positions. Each function can be easily programmed by a push on the button. LEDs show you the actual settings. No separate battery or an additional computer is necessary.

The PROGCARD II allows a differentiation of the settings of the unique features of the JIVE ESCs. You can se it as intuitively as the PROGCARD. Even complex vernier adjustments are simple and clearly arranged.

PLANETARY GEAR

The KPG25, as used on our KIRA drives, is also available as an accessory and can be mounted on all motors with a 3.17 mm shaft, using an adaptation flange.

The KPG25 is maintenance-free and available with the gear ratio 5.2:1. The KPG25 gear box includes the planets with needle bearing, the oil filling and the motor pinion. The motor pinion has to be glued to he motor with a Loctide adhesive (e.g. 648). The adhesive can be dissolved by administering heat, for instance, when needing to change the gear ratio.

Of course, the needle-mounted planets are included in delivery and the gear box is already lubricated.

The fitting adaptation flange must be ordered separately, whenever a direct drive is changed to a geared one.
